Dashing Through the Snow Weekend with Skiing and Riding Santas, December 17 – 18, 2011
Begin your Christmas celebration at Windham Mountain with holiday-themed fun and activities. The band Finding Reason will play on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in Legends Bar & Grill, and the Catskill Mountain Series Giant Slalom and Rail Jam will take place this weekend.
On Sunday, December 18, 2011, Windham Mountain invites all skiing and riding Santas to spend a day on our mountain. A free ski ticket and two additional midweek, non-holiday vouchers will be given to those dressed in head-to-toe Santa costumes for the day. All skiing and riding Santas will be required to pre-register. (Limited to 250. Registration opens on November 28, 2011.) A minimum donation of $10 is requested and will be given to the local food pantry at Hope Restoration Church in Windham, NY. All Santa’s will meet in the morning for a group picture and an initial group ski and ride.
Christmas Week, December 25, 2011 – January 2, 2012
Celebrate the Holidays at Windham Mountain! Skiing and riding will be available from December 26, 2011 through January 1, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., and on Monday January 2, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Mountain Top Adventure Park will be open for day and night tubing (day only on Sunday, January 2, 2012), and the Cross Country and Snowshoe Center will be open daily, weather permitting.
New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2011
Windham Mountain will bring in the New Year with kids entertainment, a fantastic fireworks display and great music. Celebrate with your friends and family at Legends Bar & Grill with a live band, drinks and a party that starts the New Year off right! And the winner of our annual first Skier of the Year contest will descend the lighted What’s Next trail at midnight!
College Week and College Cup, January 3-6, 2012
Come show your school spirit! Windham offers $25 lift tickets all week for college students with a valid student ID card. Activities include school vs. school ski and snowboard races, Legends Lounge drink specials and new spins on “traditional” college games and contests.
What could be better way to wrap up the week than finding out which college really deserves bragging rights? The College Cup Race on Friday, January 6, 2012 puts students head to head to see which school rules, and winners will take prizes from a $5000 purse.
Western Hoedown, January 7-8, 2012
Break out your boots (the cowboy ones) and bring in the first full weekend of the New Year western style. The party will move from the patio into Legends Bar & Grill on Saturday night for a knee-slapping good time. The Country Nighthawks will play western music, and there will be western-themed giveaways and drink specials.
Windham Mountain’s alliance with Jackson Hole Ski Resort in Teton Village, Wyoming continues. A Jackson Hole Representative will be on site this weekend.
Senior Week, January 9-13, 2012
Windham Mountain will offer seniors ages 50+ significantly reduced prices on lift tickets, lessons and ski-and-stay packages at The Winwood Inn. Additional discounts will be available at Rock’n Mexicana restaurant, Legends Bar & Grill, Windham Mountain Sports and the Demo Center. Guests must present an I.D. for age verification to receive discounted rates.
Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend, January 14-16, 2012
The Amish Outlaws return to perform at Legends Bar & Grill on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. And rock out with Johnny Moon and the Starz on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Drink specials and a DJ on the patio will keep the party going all weekend long.
Wounded Warriors Weekend, January 19-22, 2012
Windham Mountain’s Adaptive Sports Foundation (ASF) will host the Wounded Warriors Weekend. Instructors help veterans to overcome injuries and experience the thrill of skiing and snowboarding. To learn more, visit http://www.windhammountain.com/lessons-programs/adaptive-sports-foundation/.
Birthday and Rockabilly Weekend, January 21-22, 2012
Celebrate Windham Mountain’s 51st birthday with a great band, drink specials and a fireworks display. And we’ll revisit the 50’s with a Rockabilly themed weekend. Grease up your hair, give a us a little lip curl and rock out to the best of the era! The Lustre Kings will play in Legends from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m on Saturday.
Hospitality Industry Ski Week, January 23-27, 2012
Windham will offer discounts and incentives to employees in the hospitality industries including bartenders, wait staff, hair dressers and service industry employees. Discounts will be available at Rock’n Mexicana restaurant, Legends Bar & Grill, Windham Mountain Sports and the Demo Center. Guests must present their lift ticket for verification to receive discounted rates.
Woodstock 2012, January 28-29, 2012
Transport back to that epic festival in 1969 when the hair was long, the beards were thick and the bells were big. Grateful Dead tribute band The Reflections will play 60’s favorites in Legends Bar & Grill on Saturday, and we’ll help you look the part with bandanas, temporary tattoos and peace sign jewelry.
Women’s Week, January 30 – February 3, 2012
A week dedicated to women at Windham Mountain. Women will enjoy special lift ticket rates in addition to discounts will be available at Rock’n Mexicana restaurant, Legends Bar & Grill, Windham Mountain Sports and the Demo Center. Join other women in races, improvement clinics, and fun. From February 1-3 the I ♥ Snowboarding events help to raise money for women’s Heart Disease research.
NFL Championship Game Weekend, February 4-5, 2012
Celebrate the end of football season and watch the biggest game of the year with Windham Mountain. We’ll party all weekend long with great contests, including a longest field goal kick in a ski boot and a football tire throw. Then, come to Rock’n Mexicana to watch the NFL Championship fireside. Great food and drink specials on Sunday will keep the party going through the last nail-biting seconds.
Disco Dancing, February 11-12, 2012
Wear your favorite bell bottoms to Windham Mountain. We’ll feature giveaways and disco dance parties along with a DJ cranking out the tunes of the decade on the patio and the Dyn-o-Mite Disco Band from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m on Saturday.
80’s Party and Big Air Bag Throwdown, February 18-19, 2012
Windham Mountain will host the annual Big Air Bag Throwdown on Saturday night. Skiers and riders bring their best tricks to the Big Air Bag at Windham Mountain. This competition will be a dual elimination format, with the judges determining which athlete moves on to the next round. A DJ will keep things lively and dole out swag generously. The Mountain will also feature a “best 80’s ski suit” contest, neon lights giveaways and drink specials in Legends. Weekend bands include U2 cover band Joshua Tree on Saturday and Johnny Moon and the Starz on Sunday.
President’s Week, February 18-26, 2012
Night skiing and riding will be available from February 18 – 25, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The Mountain Top Adventure Park will be open all week for day and night tubing (day only on Sunday, February 26, 2012), and the Cross Country and Snowshoe Center will be open daily, weather permitting.
Bavarian Fest, February 25-26, 2012
Area entertainers will join us for the weekend to share the best of the Bavarian culture, with authentic German music and costumes. It’s Oktoberfest, a few months late. We’ll also offer German beer and food specialties.
Motown Getdown & Michael Grey Race, March 3-4, 2012
Get back into the groove with the best of Motown. Think Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder and the Temptations, and get ready to get down! Afros, peace signs and anything with fringe will have you ready to boogie the night away. Come and check out our Motown band in Legends and fantastic drink specials.
March Madness & Hartman Cup, March 10- 11, 2012
Come take your best foul shot and join the festivities on the back patio. Windham Mountain is offering value-priced tickets for skiers and riders wearing college team jerseys. Guests can take their best foul shot and participate in a variety of Ski-Meets-Basketball Activities on the patio. Johnny Moon and the Starz will be playing their last Windham Mountain gig of the winter season in Legends from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Snowmakers’ Race, March 13, 2012
Area resorts send their snowmakers to compete in the Annual Snowmakers’ Classic. Contests include hose pulling, slalom races and freestyle competitions. Resorts compete for bragging rights and prizes.
Winter Wonderland – A Day of Yes! March 14, 2012
Chai Lifeline, the international children’s health support network, has joined with Windham Mountain to bring the excitement of winter sports to children with cancer and other life-threatening or chronic illnesses. Windham Mountain will host a group of children and siblings for a day of fun at the mountain. Children will have the opportunity to ski or spend the day engaged in Windham Mountain’s full range of outdoor winter activities.
Irish I was Skiing/Riding Festival, March 17-18, 2012
Kiss me – I’m at Windham Mountain. Legend has it that if you catch a (skiing) leprechaun, you get the gold (kids can catch the leprechaun who has gold coin chocolate). There will be a Irish Step Dancers and a DJ on the Patio, Guinness drink specials all weekend, and a great Irish band – The Ruffians – in Legends on Saturday.
Parrothead Spring Fling Festival, March 24-25, 2012
Come celebrate the arrival of spring with beach balls, leis, and palm trees. In partnership with the local Parrothead chapter, our “party with a purpose” raises money for local charity. The beach festival presents Jimmy and the Parrots a Jimmy Buffet cover band. Entertainment will include volley ball, frisbees, jello shots, blender sports specials, and a waitress race. And check out our infamous Pond Skimming competition.
