In its continued support of the U.S. Ski Team, Windham Mountain is now a proud sponsor of team member and native New Yorker Tommy Biesemeyer.

Biesemeyer, who hails from the Adirondacks, has a racing history at Windham Mountain, competing at the resort on the road to his World Cup debut in 2011. On a hot streak during the current racing season including a 13th in Super G at the World Championships in Schladming, Austria, Biesemeyer is poised to become a household name approaching the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

“Having the support from Windham Mountain while competing on the World Cup tour is not only an honor but an opportunity to represent New York State’s ski racing” Biesemeyer said.

Windham Mountain’s sponsorship announcement comes just two weeks before American legends of skiing converge at the mountain for the third annual U.S. Ski Team Day on Saturday, March 2, 2013.

This year, Olympians Bode Miller, Phil Mahre, Tommy Moe, Diann Roffe, will participate in public and private events, including autograph session, Après Ski Party and opportunity to ski with the legends. The fun-filled event will also include local Adaptive Sports heroes Catie Sarubbi and Staci Mannella.

The goal of U.S. Ski Team Day is both to raise funds for the U.S. Ski Team and to give guests, particularly Windham Mountain Junior Program participants, the opportunity to meet world class athletes. Windham Mountain’s competition programs, known as the ‘The Race Factory’, has nearly 600 participants and regularly turn out top-level athletes.

At the 2012 U.S. Ski Team event, Junior Program participants were at the heart of a ceremony in which a framed Bode Miller race suit, worn when he won the Gold Medal in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, was presented to Windham Mountain.
