The Ann Street Gallery Presents Its newest exhibition The Sublime Revisited
Staff | August 12, 2013 | CommentThe Ann Street Gallery presents its newest exhibition The Sublime Revisited, with an Artist Reception on Saturday, September 14 from 6:30–8:30 pm. This event is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.
This exhibition will examine how contemporary artists explore the diverse and sometimes conflicting ideas of the sublime, with themes in relation to the awesome, the beautiful, terror, nature, technology, transcendence, and altered states. Works on view will provide a philosophical and cultural context for discourse around the sublime in art as it has evolved over time from the writings of Longinus, Burke and Kant to present day.
The exhibition is on view through Saturday, October 26, 2013. The exhibition was curated by Virginia Walsh, Director of the Ann Street Gallery.
