Queen City Arts Block Party & After Party

Saturday, July 20   – Poughkeepsie 

Artists – Kid’s Activities – Music – Dance – Performance!

Come down to Main Street, Poughkeepsie to see local artists, musicians, and makers of marvelous things during the Queen City Arts Block Party.  The event will be located at the Mural Park in the 200 block of Main Street and feature Artist Booths with handmade and one-of-a-kind items including pottery, original art, photography, prints, literary zines, and locally made food items.

Live performance begins on the Main Stage at 2:00pm, hosted by Spoken Word Performance Artist, Gold.  Acts include a variety of music- Six7 & The High playing funky rock, I’m Awake, The Wheelers, a duo playing hits from the 70’s & 89’s; Harlem Valley Drummers, The Evolving Wordsmiths, & The Open Mic in The Valley Performers, and more!  Music and performance runs until 7:00pm.

Special Presentation – 4:15pm: “Knowing Your Business as an Artist,” with Executive Producer & Writer, Phil Gates, and Robert Montgomery (Managing Partner & Brand Consultant) “Blame It on The Hustle” and Break-Through Talent representatives, Pat Gallio and Johanna Tacadena.

 

The Queen City Arts After Party (6 to 9 pm) – Night by the Fall Kill @ The Underwear Factory (517 Main Street) – Middle Main’s 4th Annual Block Party! (rain location – Art Centro, 485 Main Street)

The event will celebrate the start of the restoration of the historic Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory and include: an unveiling the “Windows on Middle Main” public art installation, music by hip hop group Baam Bada, activities and games for kids, dance performances by Poughkeepsie Folkloric Dance Group, rain barrel painting and giveaway, hands-on watershed education exhibit, and food from Fareground Community Cafe and The Chill Grill!

Music, food and activities all evening. Artists Q&A on the Windows on Middle on Middle Main project and dance performances starting at 7pm.
