Palisades Interstate Park Commission Tallman Mountain State Park Pool Now Open
Staff | August 10, 2013 | CommentFour years after it was closed due to budget cuts, we are pleased to announce that Tallman Mountain State Park’s pool is now open. Tallman Recreation LLC recently signed a ten-year lease with the Palisades Interstate Park Commission to renovate and run the facility.
The Tallman Mountain pool is down on a bluff overlooking the Piermont Marsh, the largest remaining brackish tidal marsh on the Hudson River. Sitting by the pool perched high above the marsh is a favorite location to watch the many species of birds and other wildlife that make the marsh their home.
The pool complex is easily accessible to and from the Village of Piermont. Below the pool, an improved cinder pathway leads north along the edge of the marsh across to Piermont, a very short distance away. It’s an easy stroll to reach the Village where you can find enticing cafes, interesting bistros and basic shopping to get a picnic or have a picnic created for you.
