On Saturday, September 14 at 10 a.m. learn about the Majestic Monarch at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall. After a short presentation join environmental educator Alica Ocana for a guided hike in search of Monarch Butterflies and Caterpillars at the Outdoor Discovery Center plus learn how to plant a patch of their favorite food to attract them to your yard. “Monarch caterpillars diet consists exclusively of milkweed plants,” said Ocana. The toxicity from these plants is what makes the monarch caterpillars and butterflies unpleasant tasting to predators!” Make a monarch butterfly craft to take home.  This program is for adults with or without children and children ages 5 and older. Rain Cancels. Rain date: Sunday, September 15 at 10a.m. Listen to message at 845-534-5506. Admission: $7/Adults – $5/Children – Museum Members: $5/Adults – $3/Children. For more information, call 845-534-5506, x204.
