Rainwater Grill on Main Street in Hastings has become the 200th restaurant to sign-up as a participant in Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, March 18-31, 2012. A neighborhood restaurant with modern dcor and eco-friendly design, Rainwater Grill is making a name for itself as a good place for American and Italian comfort food.

“This will be our third year as part of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week,” says Tony Fortunate who opened Rainwater Grill with Ken Lauro in 2009. “We find it brings us a lot of new patrons from outside the immediate area and that’s really good for building our business.”

Janet Crawshaw, publisher of The Valley Table and founder of the event, welcomed Rainwater Grill, saying, “Six years ago we started with 70 restaurants. To no w list 200 speaks volumes about this region. There are so many great culinary choices here in the Hudson Valley. We hope diners will use Restaurant Week to try as many of them as they can.”

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, the Hudson Valley’s largest and most successful culinary event, boasts participating restaurants in seven counties (Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster and Columbia) offering three-course prix-fixe dinners at $29.95, and three-course lunches at $20.95 during the two-week event.

Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is presented by The Valley Table, in partnership with Dutchess County Tourism and Westchester County Tourism. M&T Bank is the Official Bank and Credit Card Sponsor. Major sponsors are WHUD Radio, The Gold Standard, The Culinary Institute of America, Hudson Valley Bounty, Crown Maple, Millbrook Vineyards and Winery and The Journal News.
