Hatmaker’s Attic Productions, a new local nonprofit theater company, is proud to partner with the Ritz Theater-Newburgh, Inc and Safe Harbors of the Hudson in celebrating 100 years of performances at Newburgh’s historic Ritz Theater.
Safe Harbors of the Hudson, which owns and operates The Ritz Theater, The Cornerstone Residence and the Ann Street Gallery, is a nonprofit committed to transforming lives and building communities through housing and the arts. In 2008, the Ritz Theater-Newburgh, Inc was formed to focus solely on the restoration of the Ritz and has since opened The Ritz Theater Lobby as a performance venue for the award winning Tom Humphrey Guitar Series. The Ritz Theater’s mission is to create a vibrant professional performing arts venue in the city of Newburgh that revitalizes the local economy, enriches the education of youth, and enhances community pride.
Hatmaker’s Attic Productions is honored to be a part of Safe Harbors’ ongoing efforts to restore The Ritz. Founded last year by brothers Edward and William Gibbons-Brown, Hatmaker’s Attic is committed to creating positive environments where anybody can find a home in art. The company introduced itself to the community with a series of fundraising events in Poughkeepsie last year, and mounted a debut production in Brooklyn. THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE will be the third production for this fledgling company. Tickets will be $25. Please visit www.artful.ly/store/events/827 to reserve your seat. Tickets will also be available at the door.
