Happy holidays and best wishes to all for the upcoming new year, on behalf of the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame and our 2011 Holiday Concert sponsors Edie Haughney and your neighbors at Frontier Communications.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, December 8th to attend the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame’s annual Holiday Concert. This Museum members’ benefit event will be held in the Museum’s William R. Haughton Memorial Hall. Goshen High School’s Varsity Choir and Jazz Voices Ensemble will return for this special occasion. We are also delighted to welcome The Yuletide Carolers. Wearing authentic Victorian attire, they will greet concert goers at the Museum entrance from 7 – 7:25 p.m. with a number of the best-loved carols of the season. They will then join the Varsity Choir and the Jazz Voices in the Haughton Hall at 7:30 p.m.  Sponsored by Frontier, your local telecommunications provider, the Yuletide Carolers, on this their first time appearance at the concert, will add their voices to the program and lead our lively audience in the concert’s annual version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Museum member Edie Haughney, financial advisor in the Pearl River Office of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney will be complementing the evening’s entertainment with a holiday dessert table for the enjoyment of all. Arrive early to enjoy our Yuletide Carolers’ welcoming performance and our holiday tree filled with horsey ornaments, tour the Museum with its festive halls and stalls, and check out the new exhibits that have been installed since last year’s concert.

Concert admission of $3.00 per person is waived for members. Non-members who bring a new unwrapped toy for the Marines’ “Toys for Tots” program receive a $1.00 admission discount! As seating is limited we recommend making reservations as soon as possible by calling Joanne Young at (845) 294-6330.

A visit to the Museum is never complete without a stop at the Winner’s Circle Gift Shop for the perfect holiday gift. Our gift to you is a 10% discount on purchases offered to shoppers and concert goers prior to the musical program.

If you are unable to attend the concert, we invite you to bring a new unwrapped toy and drop it in the Marine Corps Toy Drop Box located in the Museum’s main lobby from now until Friday, December 16 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. The US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program distributes toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. Please go to www.toysfortots.org for a location near you and help make a child happy this holiday season.

The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, located at 240 Main Street in Goshen, NY, is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. There is no charge for regular admission, thanks to the members of the U.S. Trotting Association. For further information on the holiday festivities and The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, its services to the sport and the local community, please call (845)294-6330 or visit www.harnessmuseum.com.
