Staff | February 21, 2013 | CommentThe Newburgh Brewing Company is pleased to present their newest photography exhibit by Briana Cox, entitled CRAFT. The public is invited to attend the artist reception on Friday, February 22 from 5-8pm in the Newburgh Brewing Company’s Tap Room at 88 Colden Street, Newburgh (Tap Room will be open at 4 PM) The exhibit will be on display through April 30, 2013.
CRAFT explores a variety of subject matter in textures, shape, shadow and light, including original and artistically altered images. For Briana, the creative process does not conclude with the release of a camera’s shutter. In this exhibit she experiments with image editing techniques, as well as different printing and framing methods to present each piece in a unique way. This is the second art exhibit for Briana. Her first exhibit was held in November at the Healing Arts Studio in Newburgh and focused on color in nature. Born and raised in the Hudson Valley, her love of art started when she was a child. Her grandmother Carolyn, was an artist and introduced her to many art forms. Briana graduated from Marist College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2002. She has been practicing photography for over 15 years. She is currently the Communications and Marketing Associate for Safe Harbors of the Hudson in Newburgh. She also works as a freelance graphic designer and photographer.
