Community Arbor Day Celebration in Beacon April 25
Staff | April 23, 2014 | CommentBEACON, NY – The public is invited to join project partners Hudson River Clearwater, Sargent-Downing Gardens and Nursery, and the City of Beacon for a community Arbor Day event that will take place on Friday, April 25, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM at the Beacon Dog Park at Memorial Park on Route 52.
The event will feature tree planting, local music, and refreshments, and special guest, City of Beacon Mayor, Randy Casale, who will deliver the Arbor Day Proclamation. The event will also feature:
- A Native American Tree Blessing
- A presentation on historic tree propagation by Richie Cabo of Sargent-Downing Gardens and Nursery
- The Solar Trailer
- performances by The Rivertown Kids, Solar Sound Band, Craig Chin, Miss Vickie; and Poet Laureate, Larry Sansone
WHO: The community is invited to this free, family-friendly Arbor Day Celebration with environmental groups, youth groups, musical performances, and more!
WHEN: Friday, April 25; 4:00 – 6:30PM
WHERE: The Beacon Dog Park located in Memorial Park on Rt. 52 in Beacon, NY

Clearwater is participating in this Community Celebration as part of an ongoing Urban and Community Forestry grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
