Chronogram Presents Full Moon Bocce Night July 12

Chronogram, with support of the Beacon Chamber of Commerce, and the sponsorship of BeaconArts, is hosting an evening of great local cuisine, swingin’ live music, great drinks, and a 16 court Bocce tournament under the full moon at Riverfront Park in Beacon. Just the ticket for a marvelous night for a moon dance.
“Throwing balls toward a target is the oldest game known to mankind,” explains Brian K. Mahoney, Chronogram editorial director. “The Egyptians played it, the Romans played it, the Elizabethans played, the old Italian guys in white tank tops played it where I grew up in Queens… But make no mistake—this ain’t your great uncle Vinny’s bocce. Unless great Uncle Vinny played on the banks of the Hudson River with a snifter of small-batch bourbon in his hand while the DJ was laying down serious grooves…”

Chronogram’s Full Moon Bocce party will feature:
- A Taste of Beacon food experience with dishes from Tito Santana Taqueria, Ella’s Bellas, Poppy’s Burgers & Fries, Leo’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, and more.
- Live swing music from the Michael Torsone Orchestra 7pm-10pm
- DJ Dance Party from 10pm-Midnight
- Beer and Wine garden featuring beer from Mill House Brewing Company
- Italian wine tastings
- 16 bocce courts with tournament and free play
Full Moon Bocce All-Inclusive VIP Bocce Ballers ticket holders gain access to a more intimate Bocce experience: admission to the Light Up Lounge, an open bar, a private wine tasting, a private distillery tasting from Dutch’s Spirits, authentic Italian food provided by Angelina’s, and more.
