(Poughkeepsie, February 18th) – More than 1,000 people braved the unrelenting snow and came out to celebrate the Grand Opening of Bounce! Trampoline Sports in Poughkeepsie. Some jumped and bounced for hours while others just took in all the action from the sidelines. The WOLF Radio station was on hand to broadcast from the facility as well as give out prizes and even New York State Senator Terry Gipson came by for the ribbon cutting.

People were encouraged to indicate which organization they were supporting and by the end of the day The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kingston had received a donation of $2,950 while Vassar Brothers Medical Center received $1,560 and the Boy Scouts of America Hudson Valley totaled $1,050.

“We were thrilled to see so many folks come out to support these important local organizations and have such fun doing it,” stated Co-Owner Bill Merrill, who was joined by his partner Bruce Katz, Poughkeepsie Town Supervisor Todd Tancredi, Ward Todd, President of the Ulster County Chamber, Gloria Cukar and Loren Hoffman of the Dutchess County Chamber, Priscilla Weaver and Ann Armater of Vassar Brothers Medical Center and Joe Fay of the Boys & Girls Club.

Bounce! Trampoline Sports at 2 Neptune Road in Poughkeepsie, is the third Bounce! location in the tri-state area and the first trampoline park franchise for the company. The Valley Cottage facility opened in Rockland County in November of 2011 and the second in Syosset on Long Island opened in September of 2013.

Bounce! Trampoline Sports is an exciting new concept in family recreation and offers upstate New York residents an unprecedented opportunity to play, have fun and get fit on enormous spacious courts of interconnected trampolines. Bounce! is already becoming a top destination for family outings, kids and adult parties, group fundraisers and team building for corporations and even area colleges.

Bounce! Trampoline Sports offers an unequaled way for all ages to stay fit in a safe and fun environment; and NASA research shows that supervised jumping on trampolines is “the most efficient, effective form of exercise yet devised by man.’ This low-impact workout helps tone muscles, burn fat, reduce stress and improve coordination for all ages. Bounce! will offer open jump time, trampoline dodgeball, slam dunk basketball, foam pit jumping and both individual and group trampoline training and fitness classes taught by qualified instructors.

The unique Poughkeepsie-based complex houses private party rooms, a snack bar, Wi-fi lounge with several large HDTVs for television viewing, a separate Bounce! Jr. zone for those ages 5 and under as well as closed circuit monitoring of the athletic courts. Bounce! has been built from start to finish to meet all ASTM International Standards of safety.
