Looking for a super summer send-off where all ages can enjoy quality time together surrounded by one of the most beautiful, breathtaking views in the Hudson Valley? Then visit Boscobel on Sunday, September 16 for its 12th Annual Big Band Concert & Sunset Picnic.

Visitors are invited to bring blankets, chairs, a picnic supper and enjoy an old-style evening of swing music and dancing while the sun sets over the mighty Hudson River.

Back again this year will be swing dance demonstrations performed by instructors & students of the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Wappingers Falls. The jumping, jiving and wailing is bound to become infectious. So, as the evening progresses, Boscobel hopes to see you on your feet, too!

Bring the kids!  — Boscobel is offering FREE admission to all children 12 years and younger accompanied by a paid adult. Admission for adults is $16. (Friends of Boscobel members receive a 10% discount; show ID at the door.)

Special Offer! — Big Band attendees can purchase a special combination ticket and tour the Boscobel mansion at a reduced rate: $26 per adult includes the Big Band concert and a guided tour. Again, children 12 and under can join adults on the tour for FREE on concert day.

One of the most popular jazz orchestras in the area, The Big Band Sound recreates the swinging jazz music of the big band era, performing compositions that span a century of music, including classics made famous by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and more. This 20-piece band consists of six saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, guitar, bass, piano, drums and male and female vocalists. The group has been performing for over thirty years and has attracted thousands of visitors to Boscobel since its first performance in 2001.

Special Big Band/Tour combo tickets MUST be purchased in advance only by calling 845.265.3638. Air-conditioned, guided tours are on the hour, starting at 10 am, and the last at 4 pm. Tours are limited to 17 guests, so reserve ASAP.

Gates open to picnickers at 5pm, and the concert kicks off at 6:00pm. (Rain date is the following Sunday, September 23, 6-8pm. Check website for update.)

Boscobel is a historic house museum, cultural venue and so much more. Located on scenic Route 9D in Garrison New York just one mile south of Cold Spring, Boscobel is directly across the river from West Point. From April through October, hours are 9:30am to 5pm (first tour at 10am; last at 4pm); November & December 9:30am to 4pm (last tour at 3pm.)  Boscobel is open every day except Tuesdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
