Beale Street Barbershop Hosts 1st “Hair Because You Care” Drive For The KFM Foundation

Peekskill, NY–On Saturday March 22nd at 7:00pm, Beale Street Barber Shop of South St. In Peekskill, NY and NAYGN will host the first ever Million-Hair Challenge Hair Drive to Benefit The Kathleen F Marks Memorial Foundation. Six Participants will cut a minimum of 8 inches of hair to donate to KFM. The Hair will be used to make wigs for local patients who cannot afford to purchase their own human hair wigs.
This Hair drive is the first to be held for the KFM Memorial Foundations “Hair Because You Care” wig program, each participant has been fundraising for weeks. The money they raise individually or with team members will be used to pay for the custom human hair wigs to be made. The goal for this event is to have three wigs made for local patient use through The KFM Memorial Foundation.
Guests are invited to join the event and watch as our participants generously cut and donate their healthy locks for a worthy cause. A $10 donation is suggested at the door and light cocktail faire as well as non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for spectators to enjoy.Raffles and prizes will also be offered for guests to participate in, in hopes of raising enough money to have all three wigs made. Please note: space is limited.
The Hair Because you Care wig program is an ongoing program. The six participants of the inaugural event are residents of the Hudson Valley or natives of the region. One Participant, Christina Tocco Kelly, is travelling from Indiana back to her hometown of Peekskill, NY to participate in the challenge.
