Member of the Multi-Platinum Group Appearing June 2

Taboo, a member of the internationally acclaimed Black-Eyed Peas will be performing a live DJ set at Orient on Saturday, June 2 at 10pm. The performance will follow an appearance at Splash Down in Fishkill for the “Shave For A Cure Beach Party” from 12pm -4pm. The event, presented by 96.1 Kiss FM and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, will also feature appearances by Elvis Duran, DJ Mr. Vince & DJ Kue of the World Famous Vynil Squad and Live Music from Afterglow.

Since the release of their third album Elephunk in 2003, the Black-Eyed Peas have sold more than sixty million records. In 2009, the group became one of only eleven artists to have simultaneously held the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 with their singles “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling” which topped the chart for an unprecedented twenty-six consecutive weeks. The Black-Eyed Peas were ranked 12th on the Billboard’s Decade-End Chart ‘Artist of the Decade’, and 7th in the ‘Hot 100 Artists of the Decade’.

In November 2010, they released the album The Beginning. In February 2011, the group performed at the Super Bowl XLV halftime show. The album’s first two singles “The Time (Dirty Bit)” and “Just Can’t Get Enough” became international hits and topped the charts in many countries.

Besides being a member of the Black Eyed Peas, Taboo is also a noted solo artist, performing live around the world for thousands of adoring fans everywhere from Angola to Amsterdam. Music he has co-written and performed has been featured on many movie soundtracks, including Coach Carter, Legally Blonde, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and Barbershop 2.

If his superstar music career wasn’t enough, Taboo is also an accomplished actor, appearing in the film Dirty with Wyclef Jean, playing the part of Ramirez. He then appeared in the 2007 independent film Cosmic Radio, which also stars Michael Madsen, Wes Studi, Irene Bedard, Daryl Hanna, Ricardo Chavira, and other well-known actors. He played the character Vega in the 2009 film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Taboo has also appeared as a judge on MTV’s reality show Top Pop Group.
