“Seldom Scenes” – Where in the Hudson Valley Are They?

Responding to a visual call for unusual and off the beaten track natural phenomena, the human experience, and obscure locales and structures within the Hudson Valley, forty photographers submitted over one hundred images captured within six river-bordering counties.  Jurors Photographer Thomas Teich and Painter James Cramer were charged with selecting the works. This show will display how the twenty-three photographers chosen responded.  Will you, the viewer, recognize the locations? Be inspired to explore a never seen scenic spot existing nearby or not too far away? Organizer Nora Adelman conceived of  “Seldom Scenes” as a challenge not just to photographers but to gallery visitors as well. (**Some location clues: Annandale, Athens, Tivoli, Connelly, New Paltz, Pine Plains, Mohonk, Cold Springs, Bear Mountain, Glenford, Cohoes, Greenville, Albany, Rhinebeck, Prattsville)

The photographers showing in the “Seldom Scenes” exhibition hail from all over the Hudson Valley.  They are Nora Adelman, Bob Braine, Lee Courtney, Donn Critchell, Anita DeFina Hadley, John Diehl, Francis X.
