It’s spring! Feels more like summer, but calendrically, it’s spring, and that means it’s time to get your hands dirty in the garden. Lucky for you, Catskill Native Nursery is presenting the Wildflower Festival and Tomatothon this week, May 16 & 17 (Fri/Sat) from 10am-5pm. The event is free and offers one-stop-shopping for those looking for seeds/seedlings (Hudson Valley Seed Library will be in attendance) and plants (Tomatothon features peppers and tomatoes started early). Twinflower Herbals will offer natural body care products. Got questions? Gardening experts will give you answers while you peruse the selection of growing things. Catskill Native Nursery in Kerhonkson is where it’s happening (GMAP), a place that gets high marks from locals for their biodiverse native plant species, not to mention their stunning grounds.

Need a place to stay within 30 minutes of the Festival? Check out this adorable one-room gazebo cottage in Woodridge, Sullivan County. Located about 90 minutes from NYC, the unique domicile includes views of the nearby private lake. Could be a great base of operations for exploring the Catskill Mountains, and it’s darn affordable at $100/night. For more info, check out the AirBnb listing.
