Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana and Commissioner Richard L. Rose of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation are pleased to announce that the Friends of the Orange County Arboretum will be hosting their 8th annual Garden Tea on Sunday, September 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Arboretum located in Thomas Bull Memorial Park.

Join the Friends for this major fundraising event and spend a delightful afternoon sipping tea and nibbling on finger sandwiches in the magnificent setting that the Arboretum’s gardens and trees provide. Volunteer hostesses will serve guests at beautifully appointed, themed tables set with fine china and gorgeous floral centerpieces. Guests are sure to enjoy the wonderful assortment of delectable homemade sweet and savory treats accompanied by a variety of both hot and iced teas.

Highlights of the day will include a silent auction featuring an array of amazing items, a 50/50 raffle, chances to win terrific door prizes, and a hat contest. Attendees are encouraged to be creative and wear their favorite hats to compete for awards including “prettiest,” “most outrageous,” and “funniest” hat at the Tea.

“Tea at the Arboretum is a great way to enjoy a late summer afternoon,” said County Executive Diana. “I hope residents will bring their friends to this lovely annual affair and help support this jewel of our County Parks system.”

Tickets to attend the Garden Tea are $30 per person; advanced reservations and
pre-payment are required. All proceeds benefit the Orange County Arboretum. For more information, or to reserve a seat, please call Tamara Moson at 845-615-3828.

This event is co-sponsored by The Friends of the Orange County Arboretum and the Orange County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation.  The Arboretum is easily accessible from the Grove St. entrance to the Park, off of State Route 416 in Montgomery.
