Chronogram Awarded 2014 Beacon Peace Award

KINGSTON, NY (May 1, 2014) Chronogram announces they have been awarded The Beacon Peace Award 2014. The award ceremony will take place on May 18th at The Howland Cultural Center, and is open to the public.

The Beacon Peace Award recognizes 10 organizations that bring peace through the work they do in their field. Every year, The Center for Bringing About Peace, an educational gathering of informed beings, honor special people or organizations, who contribute to peace in a variety of fields.

In 2014, one of the awards will go to Chronogram, a publication that has an enlightened focus on the arts, culture, and spirit. The award ceremony will take place at the historic Howland Center on Main Street in Beacon, Sunday, May 18th at 2 PM.

Created by Hudson Valley natives Jason Stern and Amara Projansky, Luminary Publishing is an independent media company based in Kingston, New York, which specializes in creating media that illuminates the Hudson Valley. Their flagship monthly magazine, Chronogram, quickly flourished into an invaluable resource for the Hudson Valley—delivering an uncompromising editorial vision that reflects the Hudson Valley lifestyle.

Throughout the years, Chronogram‘s mission to nourish and stimulate the cultural life of the Hudson Valley has been resolute while keeping pace with the advent of new media technologies. The re-launching of Chronogram.com in 2013, having created a vast social media following, and more recently, a series of Hudson Valley events to the area has further extended Chronogram’s success. Their 20th Anniversary Block Party in 2013 attracted over 3,500 Hudson Valley natives and visitors to uptown Kingston, and will be returning for a second year on August 16, 2014.
