Try something new this season. Whether you horseback ride or whitewater tube through the warmer months, here are some fun-loving places you’ll want to check out.

Get moving with Great Freedom Adventures’ bike and walking tours. Their Hudson Valley bike tour will give you a taste of everything the region has to offer. During the six-day cycling retreat, you’ll stop at great restaurants, farms, wineries, and historic sites. This season, the Hudson Valley, NY Bike Tour runs from July 15-20. Great Freedom Adventures also offer tours throughout the Northeast, including one that stops in Woodstock and Vermont.

Juckas Stables in Pine Bush offers horse riding lessons, by-the-hour horse rentals, and overnight camping on their 117-acre site. Whether you’re a pro or just a beginner, the folks at Juckas Stables will accommodate you. Starting this summer, they’ll have a Summer Day Camp for children ages 7-14. Kids will learn to feed, groom, and ride the horses during a one-week session. There are four sessions available during the month of July.

Have a thrill with NY Zipline, located at Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl. Here you’ll find three family-friendly zipline escapades: the SkyRider, Mid Mountain Canopy Tour, and the Adventure Tower. The industry experts at Canopy Tours are the designers and builders of the adventure vehicle, and they’re deeply dedicated to safety—so hop on and enjoy the ride.

Windham Mountain Ski Resort is open all year round, so don’t put away your snow gear just yet! The resort offers snowsport lessons and programs for both youth and adults, including the Open Learning Environment Program for First Time Skiers and Riders. They also have rentals, a mountain sports shop, lodging, dining, and a spa. Group rates and rates for private events, including weddings, are also available.

Grab a tube or kayak from Town Tinker Tube Rentals and ride the Esopus Creek. The rental company headquarters is located in Phoenicia, and the whitewater trail starts right upstream. Town Tinker Taxis will transport riders to the entry points, and the ride typically takes between one and two hours.
